Grimoire Bookmarklet

How to use:

  1. Open your game on botc.app with the Grimoire visible.
  2. Click the bookmarklet in your bookmarks bar.
  3. A new tab will open with all interactions for the characters in your current game.

Is this safe?

Yes. This bookmarklet runs entirely in your browser. It simply reads the character names from the page and opens a link - no data is sent anywhere except to this site. Your botc.app session, account, and game data remain completely private and untouched.

Alchemist interaction with Spy

An Alchemist-Spy has no Spy ability and a Spy is in play. After each execution, a living Alchemist-Spy may publicly guess a living player as the Spy. If correct, the Demon must choose the Spy tonight.

Alchemist interaction with Widow

An Alchemist-Widow has no Widow ability and a Widow is in play. After each execution, a living Alchemist-Widow may publicly guess a living player as the Widow. If correct, the Demon must choose the Widow tonight.

Alchemist interaction with Wraith

An Alchemist-Wraith has no Wraith ability and a Wraith is in play. After each execution, a living Alchemist-Wraith may publicly guess a living player as the Wraith. If correct, the Demon must choose the Wraith tonight.

Alchemist interaction with Summoner

The Alchemist-Summoner does not get bluffs, and chooses which Demon but not which player. If they die before this happens, evil wins. No Demon at the beginning of a game.

Alchemist interaction with Boffin

If the Alchemist has the Boffin ability, the Alchemist does not learn what ability the Demon has.

Al-Hadikhia interaction with Scarlet Woman

If there would be two alive Demons, one of which was the Scarlet Woman, the Scarlet Woman becomes the Scarlet Woman again.

Each day Alsaahir can publicly guess which players are Minion(s) and which are Demon(s) - if correct, good wins.

Alsaahir interaction with Recluse

Alsaahir guessing the Recluse as a Demon or as a Minion does not count and is not required.

Atheist interaction with Boffin

If the Demon has the Atheist ability, the Storyteller may break the rules and good team wins if the Storyteller is executed. Setup condition of the Atheist is not followed in that case.

Balloonist interaction with Recluse

Balloonist may learn the Recluse as a Demon character or a Minion character,

If the Demon kills Banshee, all players learn this. From now on, Banshee may nominate twice per day and vote twice per nomination.

If Barber dies today or tonight, the Demon may choose 2 players (not another Demon) to swap characters. The players’ alignments stay the same when they swap characters.

If there is more than one living Demon, the Storyteller chooses which Demon makes the swap.

The Demon (even if drunk or poisoned) has a not-in-play good character's ability. You both know which. If the ability modifies the setup (like with the Huntsman or Choirboy) the appriopriate tokens need to be put in the bag.

Boffin interaction with Village Idiot

If there is a spare token, the Boffin can give the Demon the Village Idiot ability.

Boffin interaction with Cult Leader

If the Demon has the Cult Leader ability, they can’t turn good due to this ability.

Boffin interaction with Goon

If the Demon has the Goon ability, they can’t turn good due to this ability.

Boffin interaction with Ogre

The Demon cannot have the Ogre ability.

Boffin interaction with Drunk

The Demon cannot have the Drunk ability.

The Demon cannot have the Politician ability.

Boffin interaction with Heretic

The Demon cannot have the Heretic ability.

Boffin interaction with Recluse

If the Demon dies and has the Recluse ability, the Demon keeps this ability.

Boffin interaction with Sweetheart

If the Demon dies and has the Sweetheart ability, the Demon keeps this ability.

The Storyteller may wake the Boffin and Demon together, or independently, to tell them which ability the Demon has. (This should be considered carefully if there is e.g. a Poppy Grower or Magician.)

Boffin interaction with Exorcist

A Demon chosen by the Exorcist will not wake to use their Demon ability, but will still wake due to not-in-play good character's ability from the Boffin.

Cannibal interaction with Princess

If the Cannibal nominated, executed, & killed the Princess today, the Demon doesn’t kill tonight.

Cannibal interaction with Recluse

If Recluse is executed, the Cannibal may gain a Demon or a Minion ability, but it's not recommended.

If the Demon kills the King, Choirboy learns which player is the Demon. The King is in play.

Choirboy interaction with Recluse

Choirboy may learn the Recluse as a Demon when the Demon kills the King but it's not recommended.

Choirboy interaction with Spy

Choirboy may learn who the Demon is, when Demon kills the Spy, but it's not recommended.

Clockmaker starts knowing how many steps from the Demon to its nearest Minion.

Clockmaker interaction with Summoner

The Summoner registers as the Demon to the Clockmaker.

Clockmaker interaction with Recluse

Clockmaker may start knowing how many steps from the Demon to the Recluse, or from the Recluse to their nearest Minion, if they sit closer to each other than the rest of the evil players.

Courtier interaction with Recluse

If Courtier chose a Minion or a Demon character, the Recluse can be drunk instead but it's not recommended.

Dreamer interaction with Recluse

Dreamer can see the Recluse as a good character they are not and a Minion or a Demon.

Once per game, at night, Engineer can choose which Minions or which Demon is in play.

Engineer interaction with Recluse

Recluse may become a Minion or a Demon after the Engineer chose which are in play but it's not recommended.

Evil Twin interaction with Recluse

Evil Twin can see paired Recluse as a Minion or as a Demon but it's not recommended.

Evil Twin interaction with Heretic

Good wins if good twin is executed or only two players live. Evil wins if the Demon and the Evil Twin are dead.

Each night*, Exorcist chooses a player (different to last night): the Demon, if chosen, learns who Exorcist is and then doesn't wake tonight.

Exorcist interaction with Lil' Monsta

Lil' Monsta-sitter chosen by the Exorcist learns who Exorcist is and then doesn't wake tonight - they don't wake to use their Minion skill and to choose a new babysitter. The Demon death may still occur.

Exorcist interaction with Pukka

If on night X a player was chosen and poisoned, and on night X+1 the Exorcist chooses the Pukka and they don't wake up, then on night X+1 the player chosen on night X dies and stops to be poisoned, and on night X+2 no one dies from the Pukka and Pukka can make their choice.

Fang Gu interaction with Scarlet Woman

If there would be two alive Demons, one of which was the Scarlet Woman, the Scarlet Woman remains the Scarlet Woman.

Each night*, Flowergirl learns if a Demon voted today, and this information is given even if the Demon is not the Demon anymore at night. This ability does not trigger for Travellers exile.

Fool interaction with Lycanthrope

Fool chosen by the Lycanthrope for the very first time, doesn't die, and the Demon can kill tonight.

Each night, Fortune Teller chooses 2 players and learns if either is a Demon. There is a good player that registers as a Demon to the Fortune Teller.

Fortune Teller interaction with Recluse

Fortune Teller may learn that the Recluse is a Demon, if chosen.

Gambler interaction with Recluse

Gambler can live if guessing the Recluse as a Minion or as a Demon.

Golem may only nominate once per game. When they do, if the nominee is not the Demon, they die.

Grandmother starts knowing a good player & their character. If the Demon kills them, the Grandmother dies too.

Grandmother interaction with Recluse

Grandmother can learn that the Recluse is a Minion or a Demon if shown as the grandchild.

Grandmother interaction with Shabaloth

If the Shabaloth chose the Grandmother on the previous night and the dead Grandmother was regurgitated tonight but the grandchild (may be different from the previous grandchild) was killed by the demon then the Grandmother also dies.

Harlot interaction with Recluse

Recluse may register as a Minion or a Demon to the Harlot, but it's not recommended if the Harlot is evil.

If Hatter died today or tonight, the Minion & Demon players may choose new Minion & Demon characters to be.

Hatter interaction with Lil' Monsta

If the Hatter dies and the Demon chooses Lil' Monsta, they also choose a Minion to become.

Hatter interaction with Summoner

If the Summoner creates a second living Demon, deaths tonight are arbitrary.

Hatter interaction with Recluse

Recluse may choose a Minion or a Demon character to be, after the Hatter died but it's not recommended.

Hatter interaction with Marionette

When Hatter dies, the Marionette is not woken to choose a new Demon or Minion to be.

Hermit interaction with Recluse

Hermit with the Recluse ability can register as evil & as a Minion or Demon, even if dead.

Juggler interaction with Recluse

Juggler can get a "yes" on incorrect guess on the Recluse as a Minion or as a Demon.

Kazali interaction with Marionette

If there would be a Marionette in play, they enter play after the Demon & must start as their neighbor.

Kazali interaction with Summoner

If the Summoner creates a second living Demon, deaths tonight are arbitrary.

Each night, if the dead equal or outnumber the living, King learns 1 alive character. The Demon knows who is the King.

King interaction with Recluse

King may learn that the alive Recluse is a Minion or a Demon.

Knight starts knowing 2 players that are not the Demon.

Each night, Minions choose who babysits Lil' Monsta and thus registers as the Demon. Each night*, a player might die. There is an additional Minion in play.

Lil' Monsta interaction with Marionette

If there would be a Marionette in play, they enter play after the Demon & must start as their neighbor.

Lunatic thinks they are a Demon, but they are not. The Demon knows who they are & who they choose at night.

Lunatic interaction with Mathematician

The Mathematician might learn if the Lunatic attacks a different player than the real Demon attacked.

Each night*, Lycanthrope chooses an alive player. If good, they die & the Demon doesn’t kill tonight. One good player registers as evil.

The Demon thinks the Magician is a Minion. Minions think the Magician is a Demon.

Magician interaction with Wraith

After each execution, the living Magician may publicly guess a living player as the Wraith. If correct, the Demon must choose the Wraith tonight.

Magician interaction with Marionette

If the Magician is alive, the Demon doesn't know which neighbor is the Marionette.

Magician interaction with Spy

When the Spy sees the Grimoire, the Demon and Magician's character tokens are removed.

Magician interaction with Widow

When the Widow sees the Grimoire, the Demon and Magician's character tokens are removed.

Marionette thinks they are a good character, but they are not. The Demon knows who they are. Marionette neighbors the Demon.

Marionette interaction with Summoner

If there would be a Marionette in play, they enter play after the Demon & must start as their neighbor.

Marionette interaction with Plague Doctor

If the Storyteller would gain the Marionette ability, one of the Demon's good neighbors becomes the Marionette.

Marionette interaction with Poppy Grower

When Poppy Grower dies, the Marionette does not learn who the Demon and other Minions are.

Mathematician interaction with Soldier

The Mathematician learns if the Demon fails to poison the Soldier.

Each night*, Monk chooses a player (not themself): they are safe from the Demon tonight.

Ojo interaction with Recluse

Recluse may be killed instead, if Ojo chooses a Minion or a Demon character, but it's not recommended.

If the Ojo chooses a character which is not-in-play, the Storyteller may choose to kill no one, or any number of alive players (usually matching potential deaths from another Demon on the script).

Each night*, Pit-Hag chooses a player and a character they become (if not in play). If a Demon is made, deaths tonight are arbitrary.

Pit-Hag interaction with Summoner

If the Summoner creates a second living Demon, deaths tonight are arbitrary.

If Pit-Hag changes the only living Demon into something else, the game ends with good winning.

Minions & Demons do not know each other. If Poppy Grower dies, they learn who each other are that night.

Poppy Grower interaction with Summoner

If the Poppy Grower is alive on the 3rd night, the Summoner chooses which Demon but not which player.

If there are good-aligned Minions or Demons, they wake with evil Minions or Demons when the Poppy Grower dies.

On Princess' 1st day, if Princess nominated & executed a player, the Demon doesn’t kill tonight.

1 player is drunk, even if Puzzlemaster dies. If the Puzzlemaster guesses (once) who it is, they learn the Demon player, but if the guess is wrong, they get false info.

Puzzlemaster interaction with Recluse

Puzzlemaster may learn the Recluse as a Demon but it's not recommended.

Ravenkeeper interaction with Recluse

Recluse, if chosen by the Ravenkeeper, can be shown as a Minion or as a Demon.

Recluse might register as evil & as a Minion or Demon, even if dead.

Recluse interaction with Sage

The Recluse might register as the Demon to the Sage.

Recluse interaction with Slayer

If Slayer slays the Recluse, they might register as a Demon and die.

Recluse interaction with Recluse

In theory Recluse could be woken and learn who the Minions are and also who the Demon is but it is absolutely not recommended.

Recluse interaction with Undertaker

Recluse, if executed during the day, can be shown to the Undertaker as a Minion or as a Demon.

Recluse interaction with Spy

Spy could see the Recluse in the Grimoire as evil or as a Minion or as a Demon but it is not recommended.

Recluse interaction with Widow

Widow could see the Recluse in the Grimoire as evil or as a Minion or a Demon but it is not recommended.

If the Demon kills the Sage, the Sage learns that it is 1 of 2 players (of which one must be the killer themself).

If there are 5 or more players alive and the Demon dies, Scarlet Woman becomes the Demon. (Travellers don't count.)

Once per game, during the day, Slayer may publicly choose a player: if they are the Demon, they die.

Each night, Snake Charmer chooses an alive player: a chosen Demon swaps characters & alignments with the Snake Charmer and is then poisoned.

Soldier is safe from the Demon.

Summoner gets 3 bluffs. On the 3rd night, they choose a player: that player becomes an evil Demon of Summoner's choice. There is no Demon at the beginning of the game.

What is a TAG?

A tag describes what a character's ability interacts with or references, not the character itself.

For example, the Chef can have an Evil tag for their interaction because their ability gives information about evil players ("You start knowing how many pairs of evil players there are"), even though the Chef is a good character.

Tags help you search and filter characters based on what their abilities deal with - this could be alignments (evil, good), character types (Outsider, Townsfolk, Minion), game mechanics (drunk, poisoned, death), or any other game element that abilities reference.

Think of tags as categories that make it easier to find characters whose abilities might be relevant to a specific situation or interact with each other during the game.
